« This rigorous stripping down is sufficient in itself, without any further explanation, it is a sort of absolute, a privileged moment in painting, absolute means holding itself together. »

"...Among the works she wanted to present, there is a board intended for the Msid, the Koranic school. A finely striated white surface, enough to give this unique sensation of matter. A few black, impalpable traces scattered at the bottom of the painting provide a counterpoint that animates the vibration of the whole without falling into the slightest exaggeration. On the spot, I had the feeling that something essential was being said there, exerting an undeniable attraction, something of the order of an accomplishment.

This rigorous stripping down is sufficient in itself, without further explanation, it is a kind of absolute, a privileged moment in painting, absolute means holding itself together. It must be said and insisted, in this gesture Mounat has no deliberate intention, no desired effect, spontaneity overflows calculation and I believe that we can read, in this modest achievement by the size the premises of a new experience. I tell myself that I would have preferred to write the premises, other spelling, other meaning, it designates itself thus the first fruits that the earth can give. I would not have been mistaken and we would be close to a certain truth."
